RFK Jr. Would be Marijuana and Psychedelics friendly in the White House

It’s still very difficult to discern which of Trump’s department nominees could glean enough to votes to get confirmed to the government, but the logic of “not all of them can get rejected” will probably hold a good amount of sway.

So, if RFK gets in as the head of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), how would that look for marijuana? As a candidate for the presidency, RFK was very open to reform.

The HHS has already finished a review of cannabis and sent it off to the DEA in which it has recommended that it drops down to Schedule III from Schedule I. However, if RFK isn’t happy with those results, he can create a new review, suggesting they drop even further, potentially to Schedule V, or get descheduled entirely. The descheduling is what he has advocated for in the past.

When it comes to psychedelics, RFK has been very clear that he wants to legalize them. In a town hall with NewsNation, he said that he would want “some form of legalization,” and isn’t sure about just going to the store and buying psychedelic drugs.

So, if he were nominated, RFK could perhaps enlist the HHS to review psychedelics in the same way that marijuana was reviewed by the department.

Under RFK Jr. the HHS would certainly be the most friendly towards drugs that the agency has ever been, and it would be interesting to see how he wields that power.

FDA’s war on public health is about to end. This includes its aggressive suppression of psychedelics, peptides, stem cells, raw milk, hyperbaric therapies, chelating compounds, ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, vitamins, clean foods, sunshine, exercise, nutraceuticals and anything…
