In a sign of the robustness of the marijuana industry in the US, the Vangst Jobs Report has found that as of 2023, there are 440,445 full-time marijuana-related job positions being filled.

This number has probably risen since last year, considering 440,000 was a 5.4% increase from the year before.

In other good news, the report found that sales are coming back from the dip after Covid, with $2.7 billion more products being sold over 2022.

If we look to the future, we see many nascent state industries (New Jersey, New York, and Ohio come to mind) that will surely add many more thousands of jobs in the years to come.

Here’s how Vangst founder, Karson Humiston, put the good news in this report: “When we started Vangst, there were less than 50,000 full-time employees in the cannabis industry. Less than a decade later, there are 440,445 full-time employees in cannabis, a number that will continue growing.”

Read the full breakdown here after you put in some info about yourself.
