Brittney Griner Cancels Speech after strange message in Hotel

The Russian story revolving around marijuana continues to grow new tentacles.

Brittney Griner, the WNBA player who was locked up in a Russian jail for 293 days due to a weed vape pen in her luggage, had plans to give a talk at a cannabis event titled Women Grow Leadership in Maryland last week. However, before the event she found a note written in sharpie on duct tape in her hotel room that read “Gay Baby Jail.”

She soon backed out of the event.

But the explanation of this note more complex than it appears. The hotel, coincidentally called the Gaylord Hotel, says the tape was left by a prior visitor and accidentally not cleaned up by the staff. Why would someone write this on tape? Gay Baby Jail is a meme used in video games where someone may get stuck in a location in the game.

If this is the case, it’s a huge synchronicity that it ended up in Griner’s room. Griner herself is openly gay, and was indeed in the area to discuss her time in jail. With the hotel being called the Gaylord confuses matters even more.

So who knows the origin of this note, but it certainly gets those conspiratorial thoughts spinning.
