As cannabis continues to become more and more legal and attracts bigger businesses, we continue to see just how many ways it can be consumed. At this point most of us have our way of choice, and a report by the CDC is showing that more and more people are choosing an alternative to smoking.
However, smoking is still the most popular form of ingesting marijuana. But that lead keeps dwindling.
The survey was done from 2022 data, and it was the first time the CDC asked participants exactly how they ingested cannabis if it wasn’t smoking, so the numbers aren’t a total one-to-one comparison from the last survey.
Here are some data points:
-15.3% of adults reported marijuana use
-7.9% reported daily use
-79.4% smoked their weed
-41.6% ingest edibles
-30.3% vaped
-14.6% dabbed
Half of the cannabis-users claim to use it in multiple ways, which definitely checks out considering the vast difference in experience between edibles and a joint.
The survey makes a point to note that because these numbers were self-reported, underestimating prevalence of use is likely.
