Kellyanne Conway is a big proponent of rescheduling marijuana

Kellyanne Conway has had a rollercoaster ride within the orbit of Donald Trump. When he initially came to power in 2016, Kellyanne was front and center, being one of his most prolific defenders. She even created a pretty iconic moment with the “alternative facts” argument she once laid out for Trump’s rhetoric.

These days, she has less of a formal role in the government, but her appearances on the news to defend Trump remain pretty consistent, and she is still considered to be in his inner circle.

And according to a congressman, she is the number one fan of changing marijuana’s classification to schedule III.

Representative Brian Mast from Florida believes a decision is imminent from the president, and that Kellyanne Conway has been moving the ball forward.

While speaking to Marijuana Moment, Mast said, “For some time she’s been—I think, of the inner circle there, you know—let’s say the biggest champion of that. So I think Kellyanne is making a difference as well.”

Mast also says that the Cannabis Caucus, which he is the co-chair of, has met to discuss the possibility after not meeting much for months beforehand. It certainly does look like the momentum is moving at a quicker pace.
