It was Pi Day yesterday, and a pizza shop in Chicago partnered with a dispensary to celebrate in the coolest way possible: they made a gigantic weed pizza.
Paulie Gee’s and Ivy Hall (which is Chicago’s first social equity dispensary) made the pizza together. It was 64-by 32 inches and was served up starting at noon yesterday.
This wasn’t really a category that Ripley’s had on its radar before the creation of this pizza, so I guess the precedent starts now. There was something similar in 2021, as Yahoo points out. A cannabis brand in Massachusetts created an 850 pound weed-infused brownie for National Brownie Day. However, that one was sold to a single medicinal patient. This pizza by Paulie Gee’s can actually be handed out to the public. Each slice had 2.5 miligrams of THC, so not much for regular smokers but enough to get a slight buzz.

This all comes as an extremely creative workaround in a landscape where marijuana advertising is shunned on national broadcast and many social media platforms. Efforts like this get mentions on late night talk shows and local news stations, so it’s a pretty ingenious way to get the word out.
Hopefully we’ll start seeing more and more gigantic, record-breaking food items with weed in them in the near future.
