Woody Harrelson Wishes He Could’ve Invited Bob Marley To His Dispensary For a Smoke Sesh

In a recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, actor and longtime cannabis advocate Woody Harrelson revealed his dream smoking companion: none other than reggae legend and marijuana icon Bob Marley.

Harrelson, who co-owns the Los Angeles-based marijuana dispensary The Woods alongside comedian Bill Maher, was asked by Colbert who—living or dead—he would most like to host at his dispensary’s consumption lounge, the “Ganja Giggle Garden.” Without hesitation, the True Detective star answered, “Bob Marley.”

But when pressed on whether he could match Marley’s legendary tolerance for cannabis in a one-on-one session, Harrelson admitted he probably wouldn’t stand a chance. “I don’t think so,” he confessed with a grin, adding that he had spent time with Marley’s mother in the past and even she was out of his league when it came to smoking. “She was serious,” he emphasized.

Harrelson’s admiration for the cannabis culture extends beyond just casual appreciation. He has long been a vocal advocate for marijuana reform and was recently involved in efforts to push California Governor Gavin Newsom to legalize marijuana cafes—an effort that ultimately succeeded last September when the governor signed the bill into law.

The actor, who once revealed that cannabis helped him endure a dinner with former President Donald Trump, continues to use his platform to champion marijuana legalization and its normalization in mainstream culture. His latest comments about Marley reinforce his deep connection to the plant and its cultural significance.

Harrelson’s dispensary, The Woods, has become a hotspot for cannabis enthusiasts in Los Angeles, offering a premium experience that merges luxury with laid-back vibes. Though Bob Marley will never get the chance to visit, it’s safe to say his spirit and legacy live on in Harrelson’s cannabis-friendly oasis. And while Harrelson may not be able to go “toke-for-toke” with Marley, the respect is clearly mutual—at least in spirit.
